Ides of March is not just about back alley dealings, who want to get the power of history, its morality tale of how much one has to fight from doing things because he believes that they are the right thing to do, and do things that serve themselves better long term. It is a political melodrama, but it's just as easy to have written about business and high finance. They are very cynical, the points driven home a terrific cast, and yet it manages to be heavy handed or preachy. In fact, arent really any strictly good or bad guys in this movie.Ryan Gosling stars as Stephen Myers, principal advisor to Gov. Mike Morris (George Clooney), who is running for president, currently under arbitration FBO imple State of Ohio. If Morris can gain Ohio delegates, he is almost sure to get the Democratic nomination, and movies, they pointed out that the Republicans have a weak field themselves (at best). All this means, of course, Ohio goes, so goes the Presidency, so there's a lot riding on this one primary.Morris campaign manager Paul Zara, played by Philip Seymour Hoffman, a veteran of many brutal campaign. And while Zara experience, Morris often turns into a new (ish) assistant Steven get so jaded, over-right perspective. (Of course, in this way, Morris is just trying to hear from someone who can not think for four years or less down the road to your next job.) Like most workers, Steven believes in Morris, he believes that if a person is elected president, good things will happen. This is a prototype of an idealistic assistant, doing the right thing will win over all, he believes. Hes not completely naive to backdoor politics, but his organization, his analysis, his intellect and his spirit are what endear Morris him.Even but Steven is not Mr. Perfect, self-righteous do-gooder, he's savvy, Vin & Scaron , knows what buttons to push. He learns, though, that the biggest obstacle to success is to recognize what is reliable, and just because one is friends with does not mean that the respect to each other so much when it comes to the political game. For example, simply feeding the press (Marisa Tomei in person), sometimes spicy does not mean that the media will be extended PR arm Morris.Somewhere Steven along the line reaches a tipping point, a place where loyalty is not the main plate. This item is like two pretty bad decisions, one that he knows is a bad idea, and even more, it seems a little more innocent result? but then Steven Low as a small, narrow and vindictive that the business can be. Its all about the level of paranoia. You need to provide some problems, but too much of it will be your soul Hollow to jiffy.Clooney providing the looks and sounds presidential, but he did not focus on the movie, and like his eminent good night and good luck, he is a strong supporting character. Who does not revolve around Mike Morris as they around Steven Myers, and this is one of the reasons the film works? Our focus is on the moral battle, and the assumption that the sitting governor, that battle for a long time over Morris.The hand-picked cast is superb. We not only get Clooney, Hoffman, Tomei and goslings, we also get Paul Giamatti as the chief opponent's campaign manager. Everyone seems to steal scenes, even the ones they share. Even Evan Rachel Wood as the new trainee Morris camp turns into a performance.It clear that the Ides of March will not be for everyone. That is, as I have said, foul-mouthed? Very much so. It wont leave you hope for, well, anything. It gives you not the one who actually cheer, and no one who really despises. It offers realism in expectations, and its main goal is to try to explain to those who are involved in these campaigns motivation is achieved. They are effective, gripping melodrama.
